THREAD LIFT

Thread lift is a brilliant aesthetic method for firming and lifting saggy skin. It is also very effective in redefining facial contours. This procedure is an excellent alternative to surgical lift because it is much less invasive. It achieves great results without a long recovery period, pain or surgery risks. It involves inserting fine threads and pulling the skin to make it tighter and smoother. The procedure triggers the body’s natural healing processes and eventually brings to skin rejuvenation. It also boosts collagen production, an important protein, that supports the skin and lifts it.

Nose Thread Lift

Nose thread uses threads to shape and enhance the appearance of the nose. Fine threads are inserted under the skin to lift the bridge and tip of the nose while stimulating collagen to achieve a permanent nose lift. Polydioxanone threads (PDO) are 100% biocompatible and are absorbed by our body. The results are immediately visible as the threads form a framework for the nose. Provides a firmer lift and a sharper, more defined contour.

The greatest benefit of this treatment is that it provides instant and long-lasting results. The patient sees the effect of the tightening shortly after the procedure, but more tightening is noticed over time as collagen is produced.

Nose Thread Lift

The biggest benefit is that a nose thread life gives an effect that is semi-permanent. Nose thread not only able to elevate the nose bridge and tip but also able to stimulate collagen production to provide a sustainable life for the nose. It is a minimally invasive procedure that is quick and has very little downtime.

TREATMENT AREA & CONDITIONS

As the skin matures, it loses connective tissue, particularly collagen and elastin. These important proteins act as the building blocks that keep skin well-structured and firm. However, when they begin to shrink, skin loses its elasticity, begins to sag, and fine lines and wrinkles appear.

The inserted threads form a subcutaneous support structure through the formation of collagen.

Thread lift are effective for:

  • Redefining and lifting the cheeks and nasolabial folds

  • Nose tip lifting and reshaping, non-surgical rhinoplasty

  • Correcting facial asymmetry from Bells’ Palsy or after a Stroke

  • Breast lifting

  • Sagging jowls

  • Vaginal tightening

  • Redefining the jawline

  • Brow lifts including ‘fox eyes’

  • Tightening and lifting the upper neck

  • Lifting the marionette lines and mouth corners

HOW IT WORKS?

APTOS threads stimulate collagen and elastin, recreating the subdermal or deeper anchors beneath the skin holding the skin and subdermal fat tissue after repositioning the tissues. This new collagen produced by the threads is predominantly Type 1, or healthy collagen, not Type 3 collagen which is scar tissue. This new collagen can remain for many months after the sutures have been completely reabsorbed, allowing the results of the treatment to often last more than 2 years.

Our doctors will assess your face condition prior to treatment, discuss your treatment goals and develop a customized treatment plan. Our doctor will guide you through the entire procedure and obtain your written consent. Once you are ready the treatment will begin.

HOW IS THE PROCEDURE DONE?

Before the procedure

During the procedure

The doctor will make marks for where the threads will be inserted. A local anesthetic will be given to minimize pain. Once the anesthetic has been given, the thread will be inserted under the skin to raise and support it. Threads are added to all the areas needed to achieve the desired result.

After the procedure

You should minimize movement of your face for one day after treatment to allow the thread to settle. Be gentle when washing your face on that day itself. Avoid alcohol and smoking for the next 24 hours.

BEFORE & AFTER

Thread lift is suitable for men and women generally in their late 30s to early 50s, who are experiencing changes in their skin firmness have mild to moderate skin sagging and don't want to have cosmetic surgery.

However, thread lift is not suitable for people who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding, have skin inflammation or active acne, are prone to the formation of keloid scars or have cold sores. Patients who have an auto-immune disease or bleeding disorders, take anticoagulant medications, are allergic to Lidocaine or PDV threads shouldn’t undergo this treatment.

Am I suitable for treatment?

Is the treatment painful?

Depending on your pain tolerance, this treatment should not cause extreme pain or discomfort. Prior to treatment, the patient’s skin is numbed with topical cream and then injected with local anesthesia to reduce the discomfort.

How long does Thread lift treatment take?

The treatment itself takes 30 to 60 minutes, depending on where the threads are inserted and how many threads the doctor uses. Beforehand, the doctor applies an anesthetic cream to the face to relieve pain during the treatment.

What are the side effects of Thread Lift?

Side effects are minimal and rarely last more than a few days. A common side effect after treatment is facial pain that lasts three to five days. Before the procedure, your doctor will numb your face with a local anesthetic to make the procedure more comfortable. There may also be small bruises on the face that will go away on their own.

Other undesirable consequences are visible lumps in the skin or dimples in the skin. In the hands of experienced practitioners, this is not a problem. Be sure to use the services of an experienced doctor.

How long does Thread Lift last?

Several factors affect the duration of treatment effects. Factors include age, genetics, and body and skin health. The relaxation process finally sets in because this treatment does not interrupt the processes that lead to the formation of wrinkles and fine lines. Results typically take 6 months to 2 years. The biodegradable threads dissolve in 6 to 9 months. However, to keep the results longer, you can add more threads later.

What is the difference with thread lift and facelift?

The risks associated with a thread lift treatment are minimal and are significantly reduced when the procedure is performed by an experienced doctor. The most common complications include bruising, swelling, mild pain, and discomfort. There is also a very low risk of infection. The doctor will ensure that the equipment and environment used are sterile. In most cases, the complications go away on their own.

Other complications that can occur during the treatment include a reaction to the anesthetic. Some people may experience nausea after anesthesia. Hematoma is a rare complication. This is where uncontrollable bleeding accumulates, causing swelling. Bruises are more common and much less severe.

What else can Thread Lift treatment be used for?

Aside from its purpose of rejuvenating the facial complexion, the thread lift treatment is not used in any other applications. Speak to our doctor for advice regarding the appropriateness of this treatment at REN Clinic.
